Rice Guide

Forms of rice, each with its own character

Rice cannot be eaten straight from the field. It has to be cleaned, processed and milled, and the way it is processed gives us different forms of rice, each with its own color, texture and character.

Raw Rice

Also known as White Rice – The most popular form of rice. The husk, bran and germ are removed, giving clean white grains with a delicate taste and a long shelf life.

Steam Rice

Paddy is soaked in water and treated with hot steam before milling. The grains turn firm and non-sticky, and keep their shape beautifully when cooked.

Parboiled Rice

Also known as Sella Rice – Paddy is partially boiled in the husk, which drives nutrients from the bran into the grain. Sella rice is a richer source of fiber, calcium, potassium and vitamin B6 than regular white rice, and it cooks faster with separate grains.

Indian Rice

India is among the world’s largest producers and exporters of rice, and the proud home of Basmati, grown in the fertile plains at the foothills of the Himalayas.

Long Grain

Long-grain rice has a slim, slender kernel about four to five times longer than it is wide. It cooks into light, separate grains and is the family that Basmati belongs to.

How do you check quality?

Every lot is tested in our lab for moisture, grain length, purity and broken percentage before it is packed. Our facility is ISO 9001:2015, GMP and HACCP certified.

Do you export rice?

Yes. We are APEDA registered and our group serves buyers across Asia, the CIS countries, the UAE, Africa and Latin America. Halal and Kosher certified supply is available.
